Cookie Policy

Last Updated:

This Cookie Policy explains how RandomChat uses cookies and browser storage on randomchat.pro, what they do, and how you can manage them.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website stores in your browser. Your browser sends them back to that website with later requests. They can keep you signed in or help secure a sign-in process.

Local storage is different: it keeps settings in your browser without automatically sending them with every request. We describe both technologies below.

Cookies we use

RandomChat currently sets the following first-party cookies for account access and sign-in security. They are set when you use the relevant account feature, rather than simply because you start a guest video chat.

These cookies support the account features you request. On our HTTPS website, they use Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax protections to limit how they can be transmitted and accessed. These protections do not replace keeping your own device and account secure.

Settings stored in your browser

This entry stores device selections and a display preference, not video recordings, audio recordings, chat messages or your account password.

Google and other third-party services

If you choose Google sign-in, you are redirected to Google. Google may use its own cookies on its services, subject to its cookie information and your Google settings. Those cookies are separate from the RandomChat cookies listed above.

Our current website does not include advertising pixels or analytics tracking scripts. We do not currently use our cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Your choices

  • Use guest chat: you can use the main video chat experience without creating an account. Some features require registration.
  • Log out: logging out removes the RandomChat sign-in cookie in that browser and revokes that session.
  • Clear site data: use your browser’s privacy settings to remove cookies and local storage for randomchat.pro. This can sign you out and reset your saved device preferences.
  • Block cookies: your browser may let you block cookies. Blocking account cookies can prevent sign-in, email-verification sign-in, or Google sign-in from working correctly.

Camera and microphone permissions are separate browser permissions. Clearing cookies does not necessarily reset them; manage them through your browser’s site permission settings.

The Start notice links to this policy so you can understand our current practices. It is not a blanket permission for future advertising or tracking. If we introduce non-essential cookies or similar technologies that require consent, we will provide the relevant choices before using them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when our use of cookies or browser storage changes. The date at the top shows when this policy was last updated.
